Hotel Quellenhof's success story
From St. Martin in the Passeier Valley to Lazise at Lake Garda and back.
For years, the Dorfer family, hoteliers from Pseir, has been known for innovative and unusual hotel projects. Their concepts are always ahead of the current trends, traditional alpine style is altered, the impossible is made possible.
The success story and high standard of the Quellenhof Resort in Passeier are also reflected in the new Quellenhof See Lodge. After the successful reopening of the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise on Lake Garda, outside the region's borders in "foreign" terrain, the Dorfer family is returning home to the Val Passiria for its next hotel project.
The Inn
Heinrich Dorfer's grandparents, who purchased the Quellenhof in 1923, brought a new impetus to the conveniently located inn during the difficult years between the world wars. They set to work with joy and enthusiasm. The small inn grew, became more elegant, and was soon a popular meeting place for guests from near and far. The Quellenhof became known for its excellent cuisine, where especially the "Forelle blau" (blue trout) was in demand by the guests as the specialty of the house.
the next generation, who had already spent years preparing for it in their parents' business. Times gradually improved, the inn flourished and the family Luise and Rudolf Dorfer enjoyed the recognition of many guests.
Quellenhof's Evolution
In the 1970s the time had come! Luise Dorfer made two strategic decisions that significantly influenced the development of Quellenhof. First, she built the Forellenhof with the first tennis courts in South Tyrol. In doing so, this she transformed the inn into a hotel with sports facilities. Then she bought the "Kennenhof", a farm with a lot of land, creating space for future expansion.
Since the 1990s, Heinrich Dorfer, the third generation, has taken over the reins of the hotel and developed it into a comprehensive sports and wellness resort. In addition to the ongoing additions and renovations, Heinrich Dorfer also repeatedly demonstrates foresight and prudence. As early as 1992, he built the hotel's own golf course, which still presents itself today as an absolute focal point in the wide range of sports on offer. Then the decision to divert traffic away from the hotel through a privately financed tunnel gave the entire facility a new quality.
