By car from Germany
Highway Munich-Innsbruck-Brenner-Sterzing-Bozen Exit south, expressway (MEBO) to the Merano South exit, then follow the signs Jaufenpaß/Timmelsjoch/Passeiertal to the Quellenhof
- Alternative: Brenner exit Sterzing-Jaufenpass-Passeier Valley. Please bear in mind that the Jaufenpass crossing is at an altitude of 2,000m, is very winding, and has some narrow sections. This alternative is not recommended in inclement weather. Freeway (A7) via Kempten-Reute-Imst-Landeck-Reschenpass-Meran, exit south then follow signs Jaufenpass/Timmelsjoch/Passeiertal via Riffian into the Passeiertal valley to Quellenhof..
(You don't need a vignette if you drive the federal road from Imst to Landeck)
- Alternative: Kempten-Reute-Ötztal-Timmelsjoch Pass to the Passeier Valley. The Timmelsjoch is only open from June to mid-October, furthermore the pass is at an altitude of 2,500m. This alternative is not recommended in inclement weather.
(You do not need a vignette, but a toll is charged at the pass crossing).
By car from Switzerland
Coming from Switzerland via Ofen Pass-Münster Valley-Glurns-Schluderns-Meran exit south, then follow the signs Jaufenpass/Timmelsjoch/Passeiertal.
By bus from Switzerland and Germany
- South Tyrol Express: your bus connection from Switzerland to Merano. With comfortable buses every Saturday from St. Gallen, Winterthur, and Zurich to Merano - main station and back. Cost approx. 190,- SFR round trip. Single trip 130,- SFR. Info at www.suedtirolexpress.ch.
- Meraner Land Express: Every Wednesday and Saturday from Munich main station to Merano center and back. During the trip, you will be looked after by a tour guide. Round trip: €75.
- South Tyrol Tours: All year round every Saturday from Stuttgart or Ulm to Quellenhof and back on Sunday. Round trip 160,- €
- Long-distance buses: Inexpensive travel from Germany and all over Europe to Merano. Prices from €9.90, route network on www.meinfernbus.de or www.flixbus.de.
The journey from Merano main station to the Quellenhof Resort can be made via public transport, the public cab service, or comfortably via the Quellenhof shuttle service.
